By clicking on the link below, you may download a complete list of DOT Code numbers, in PDF format, as assigned by NHTSA on request to automotive glazing manufacturers in accordance with FMVSS No. 205, 'Glazing Materials'. The DOT found on every piece of automotive glass manufactured for sale in the US, accurately identifies the actual manufacturing facility of the product, despite the brand name that may be found on the part for marketing purposes. It is quite common for parts to be actually made by competing manufacturers within the industry. For example, Xinyi is currently manufacturing several parts for PPG, and there's Vitro/VPM (Crinamex) who over the years has manufactured parts with the GM Logo for General Motors, Carlite branded parts for Ford Motor Company and parts for Chrysler with the Safeguard (Mopar) Logo.
